This is a great video and instructions and such a clam voice :) . Though I wanted to confirm the slider pins torque should be 58 Nm for the Front and 28 Nm for the back. (or they same for the front and rear i.e. 28 Nm, if 325mm Front discs?)

I appreciate that this post is now pretty old however it does cover a very important topic which few JLR dealers seem interested in. Having asked the question “ when should my transmission oil be replaced” to various dealers most have no idea or have never had to do so. Answers I’ve had being it’s sealed for life or every 100,000 miles. It’s not even covered in my owner’s hand book.

Great guide, thank you. I personally will be renewing the slider pins also and regreasing. These should at least be checked, rubbed down and regreased if reused. New carrier bolts and disc screw are a good idea too.

I can't get my central lug out (on the original) even after wiggling it up and down, so can't replace with the new one. Yours came out without having to do anything in particular.

Those weird nuts holding the disc on aren't needed outside the factory. They just keep the disc in place while the chassis goes through the factory until the wheels go. In a garage there's little risk of the disc falling off before a mechanic fits the wheel.

Thanks for the great instructions on this. However the lock washer (FTC3179) suggested in this video seems not correct for my 2007 Puma. It’s way thinner than the one that is used there (FTC5241). Do not attempt to replace it with the lock washer suggested as it will completely deform. Please check the diagrams before purchasing the parts, I think FTC3179 is actually only being used on older models with the old locknut/washer system (the exact opposite what is suggested in this video). Hope this helps!

Worth noting that some L405s have completely different calipers and pads...mine is a 2017 and it has twin pot calipers held in by two 13mm bolts...it was a doddle to replace the pads

I had time seeing baubles on top of engine and right head so I decided to replace gaskets, looking at this video seemed like an easy task right?, removed heads , notice gaskests where almost ok except torque probably was never rechecked bolts came right out, put NEW Regular gaskets but could not put sprockets back on the cams, removed front cover and released the tensioners made partial gasket for front of oil pan,installed new gaskets on taming chain cover and loaded fluids ,started engine, after Half hour milky oil coming out of covers, open covers and yea, it look like brown oil malt, checked radiator and it was OK coolant was clean, thought may be gaskets are too thin!, so order your PAYAN Gasketes from RIMMER BROS, Carefully Installed them, following carefully all directions, installed new gasket also on Intake manifold every thing seem to be right, started engine front bolt on timing chain cover leaking oil through, added some silicon , stop leak stopped,left engine run for 20 minutes, WATER COMING OUT OF SEVERAL TOP ROW HEAD BOLTS!!!! checked torque and is fine 55 PSI. Removed couple of leaking bolts to inspect, they are wet !I thought May be I put Graphite Grease on Thread and high temperature Copper RTV on the bolts, but will they be hard to remove next time? then I realized there are Black squirts burned antifreeze leaking of the head pipes!!! so I assumed Gaskets on Intake manifold are bad also, A real 30 Dais #) Nights Nightmare what else do I do? Any Ideas? , I'm Thinking CORVETTE LS1 engine Right? Small Compact, It Fits,, Why not?
